Join Rita Clagett, Laura Hess, and Kevin Walsh for this favorite program!
This is a special opportunity to gain even more support in creating and sustaining your mindfulness meditation practice. Each teacher brings their own unique strengths to this experience, creating even more opportunities for participants to grow and learn. Learn a little more about each teacher below.
Rita Clagget – In addition to regularly teaching MLP Foundations courses, Rita has consistently practiced mindfulness meditation regularly for over fourteen years. Her lifelong connection to nature led to an early recognition of the interdependence of all beings, which led inevitably to an interest in Buddhism, and ultimately to certification as an MLP Mindfulness Teacher. She has meditated daily since 2010, at least twice daily since November 2016, and now incorporates all aspects of MLP’s mindfulness approach into her daily practice. Outside of mindfulness, Rita has practiced low-impact living in harmony with nature for thirty years. She lives off-the-grid in an adobe home, and cultivates food and healing plants as well as pollinator and wildlife habitat in her gardens.
Laura Hess – Her personal mindfulness practice began over 20 years ago and has been a wonderful journey into self-understanding, growth, and transformation. In 2017, Laura was introduced to the teachings of the Mindful Life Program and chose to embark on the year-long teacher training. The concepts and teachings fulfilled her passion to share the teachings with others. In addition, Laura has over 30 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, educator, and leader. Laura has always been passionate about promoting and meeting the needs of patients and colleagues with care and compassion. Her mindfulness practice has been a key component of her professional career. In her free time she enjoys reading, knitting, and spending time connecting with family and friends.
Kevin Walsh – Kevin is a retired physician who was in clinical practice for over 30 years. He started his career as a primary care physician before becoming an Addiction Medicine specialist at Kaiser-Permanente in 1999. In addition to clinical practice, Kevin has been active in clinical education, teaching other healthcare professionals communication skills, Addiction Medicine, and pain management. He has had a daily mindfulness practice since 2009 and has been an MLP Certified Teacher since 2018. Kevin is deeply committed to helping others learn, understand, and practice mindfulness to live a healthier and more fulfilling life.
Elements of Support in our 28 Day Daily Practice Circle
- Opening Live Event, January 9th, 6 pm MST US (in Australia, January 10, 12 pm AEST)
- Dedicated support and conversation space within the Mindful Life Network™
- Each week we’ll introduce the theme with an article and share a new recorded meditation for that week. You also have access to a collection of our guided meditations for the 28 days.
- Each day you’ll find a new practice inspiration, tip or technique
- Downloadable resources such as the “Rhythm of a Daily Practice” and more.
- We encourage those who join to attend the live weekly mindfulness meetings that we offer. Since we have members in many time zones, there are no daily live events.
From our own experience, we understand that it can be difficult to develop new habits, even if we know they will benefit our life. A daily mindfulness practice, once established, becomes a strong support for flourishing in your life. Because we know that it is hard to start and maintain an effective practice, this 28 Day Practice Circle was created to support you in your aspiration to explore and implement a consistent daily mindfulness practice. You are joined by a circle of Mindful Life Program™ certified mindfulness teachers, members of our mindfulness communities, and others with similar intentions as you. It is our firm conviction that everyone, regardless of race, religion, gender, or orientation deserves to live a meaningful and happy life. This includes you – you are worth it. So together, let’s practice.
