The course teaches the practice of meditation and the practical application of mindfulness in daily life. Attention – Developing attention skills through meditation training.

Wisdom – Understanding one’s biases, labeling, projection and pre-judgment. Increasing emotional intelligence and learning to respond rather than react.

Values – Living a meaningful life. Developing healthy habits and responses that are in alignment with one’s personal values.

Open heart – Developing healthy relationships and connections. Cultivating skills of compassion, loving-kindness, empathetic joy and equanimity.

Enrollment includes:

Mindfulness in Recovery® (MIR) is a skills-based, accessible and comprehensive mindfulness program designed specifically for recovery. It supports all recovery pathways using an individualized, mindfulness curriculum that empowers the client to integrate it with their personal values, cultural background, and spiritual beliefs. Using the language of recovery in the curriculum to build connections to recovery communities and literature, the MIR principles can be integrated seamlessly with your current treatment modalities providing clients with the skills to put the therapeutic tools you are offering them into practice. 

Program Overview

2 – two-day in-person workshops – to begin and end the four-month training

Opening Workshop:

January 24- 25, 2020- Mindful Life Program, Carbondale, CO:

  • 2 full days of training on Friday and Saturday, and finish Saturday night. 

Concluding Workshop: 

May 22-23, 2020 – Mindful Life Program, Carbondale, Colorado:

  • 2 full days of training on Friday and Saturday, and finish Saturday night.   

Monthly Online Classes:

Once a month on the 4th Monday at 6 pm Mountain Time

  • Monday, February 17th
  • Monday, March 23rd
  • Monday, April 27th

Additional Meetings:

  • Weekly peer calls with assigned cohort members on phone or via web conferencing. Scheduled by members.
  • Monthly individual supervision phone meeting. Additional meetings can be scheduled upon request and subject to availability.
