Mindfulness Foundations Course

MLP Online Mindfulness Foundations Course

We’re excited to share the first opportunity to participate online in the MLP 8 Week Foundations Course with Laura Bartels. Originally a course scheduled for an organization, we can now offer 7 spots for anyone to join this course starting April 2.

The MLP Foundations Course combines the practice of meditation with the application of mindfulness in daily life and to guides you to develop the habits that support you. Our goal is to help you to live your life with attention and intention, cultivating the skills that empower you to make healthy choices that are in alignment with your values and that are meaningful to you. Throughout the course, we help you to develop the skills to integrate the four key areas of mindfulness – attention, wisdom, values, and an open heart – into your life in practical, accessible, and universal ways.  In order to live a meaningful life and develop the freedom to live consciously, the curriculum focuses on training the mind and cultivating the ability to make healthy choices that are beneficial to the life you want to live.

In eight live online sessions, we engage through lectures, meditations, small group discussion, journaling, and short video presentations. Outside of class, participants begin to develop or strengthen a daily mindfulness practice and have short reading and reflection assignments. Our teachers create a safe environment for participants to explore their own values and learn to apply practices to live in alignment with them.

While the four keys of living mindfully below create the foundation, this course expands to include understanding and learning skills related to motivations and misperceptions, emotions and relationships, and more.

Attention – Developing attention skills through meditation training.

Values – Living a meaningful life. Developing healthy habits and responses that are in alignment with one’s personal values.

Wisdom – Understanding one’s biases, labeling, projection, and pre-judgment. Increasing emotional intelligence and learning to respond rather than react.

Open heart – Developing healthy relationships and connections. Cultivating skills of compassion, loving-kindness, empathic joy, and equanimity.

Enrollment includes:

  • 20 hours of engaging online class over 8 weeks
  • Access to a private online course space to stay connected with class members
  • Easy access to our course meditation library and online resources
  • “Transforming to a Mindful Life” Companion Journal
  • “Wisdom of a Meaningful Life” by co-founder John Bruna
  • Three-month membership to our Mindful Life Community™ or the Mindfulness in Recovery® Community with additional daily guidance and a community of support

Cost: $299.00 ($350 Value)

Facilitator: Laura Bartels

What participants have said:

“The course has dramatically improved my life. The sense of perspective and the ability to take a deep breath before reacting to the outside world has been really helpful. It provided tools for maintaining my equilibrium. The ability to let emotions go and see myself as separate from those emotions has really helped. I am a calmer, kinder person as a result.”

“I think this Mindfulness Foundations Course should be mandatory. It is a way to live better, love better, and be better. I now live my life in such a more meaningful and present way.”

“This was a life-transforming experience for me.”

Mindful Living Skills

Mindful Living Skills Webinar – March 2021

The Mindful Life Community™ is excited to announce our next Mindful Living Skills webinar: Awareness of Unawareness

Join us for our monthly webinar focusing on the mindfulness practice of awareness of unawareness. The foundation of mindfulness is learning to be aware of what we are doing and aware of what our mind is attending to.

The latest research indicates that, on average, people in the United States are not aware of what they are doing about half of the time that they are awake. The same research found that mind wandering (think about things unrelated to what one is actually doing) is directly correlated to levels of unhappiness.

In this webinar, we will explore the impact of integrating a unique and highly effective practice of becoming aware of mind wandering into one’s daily life, and some methods to counteract it.
